Enzyme Rescue Face Moisturizer – Youthful, Radiant Skin with Deep Cellular Renewal

Enzyme Rescue Face Moisturizer comes in two types of formulas- 55g with 8% Tomato Extract as a biostimulator and 30g with 0.07% Retinyl Retinoate.

Key Active Ingredients Explained

  • Retinyl Retinoate: Mid-strength retinoid that can be used in both day and night. Works fast to increase cell turnover, stimulate collagen production and thicken the skin to reduce skin laxity. The increased cell turnover also reduces cell clogging and inflammation, thereby improving acne and their associated pigmented scars.

  • Tomato Carotenoids: are powerful anti-aging agents that stimulate cellular and collagen renewal. They are also an antioxidant that protect the skin from oxidative and UV damage.

  • Papain & Bromelain: These fruit enzymes exfoliate dead skin, releasing amino acids that combine with MSM to promote collagen and glutathione production.

  • Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM): This tissue-repairing molecule supports collagen synthesis, brightening and lifting skin.

  • Vitamin C & Vitamin E: These antioxidants reduce dark spots, even out skin tone, and provide UV protection, enhancing radiance.

  • Phytic & Ferulic Acids: Plant-based exfoliants that lighten and brighten the complexion while calming inflammation.

  • Hyaluronic Acid: Locks in moisture, plumps fine lines, and enhances skin’s overall texture and resilience.

How It Works

Collagen, elastin, and proteoglycans are proteinaceous extracellular matrix components that provide tensile strength, elasticity, and hydration to the skin, respectively.

As time passes, these proteinaceous components are produced less, causing skin to be thinner and weaker.

Inflammation and stress hormones just as cortisol also encourage enzymes in the skin to degrade collagen, contributing to skin sag.

Enzyme Rescue uses stabilized and gentle fruit enzymes, Bromelain and Papain, that only targets damaged skin and extracellular matrix, even those naked to the eye.

These enzymes debride and release amino acids from the damaged skin. The release and nourishment of amino acids from the body’s own damaged proteins signals the skin to generate newer and stronger skin at the surface.

Beneath the pores of our skin are follicles, which host a hair and an oil gland. The oil gland
releases oil (sebum), which travels out of the pore and onto the skin via the hair. This layering of oil helps keep skin moisturised. Old skin cells are also shed from the follicles through the pores.

Acne occurs when the pores of your skin become blocked with oil, dead skin, or bacteria. This usually happens in individuals whose follicles produce excessive oil.

Acne can manifest as black heads, white heads, inflamed papules or pus-filled pustules (pimples). Inflamed papules and pimples can lead to scarring (see below).

When the dermis is injured and cut, immune cells rush to the site to fight and protect the body from bacteria and foreign invaders, causing inflammation.

The body rapidly starts producing collagen and platelets rush to clump with collagen and close the gap. The rapid production of collagen results in the new tissue having a different texture and quality than the surrounding tissue, thus forming a scar.

Some scars have a sunken or pitted appearance, and are usually caused by certain skin conditions, such as acne and chickenpox.

On the other hand, keloids and hypertrophic scars are thick and raised, and happen when the body overproduces collagen at the site of
a wound. Scar contractures, where skin at injury shrinks during recovery, causing tightness and restricting movement, are often caused by burns.

Enzyme Rescue slows down the rate of collagen production during injury and tampers inflammation.

This gives the body more time to assemble collagen fibers correctly to make tissue more similar like the undamaged tissue, reducing risk
of scarring.

Enzyme Rescue is a non-comedogenic moisturiser suitable for acne-prone skin. In combination with the right acne targeting drugs (retinol derivatives, benzoyl peroxide, and/or clascoterone) can help one to reach blemish-free skin.

In contrary to popular opinion, oil-free ‘moisturisers’ are not the best moisturiser for acne-prone skin.

Oil-free products provide fast and temporarily hydrating relief, but usually end up drying the skin surface. This only signals oil-glands in the follicles to produce more oil that lead to acne. Together with the nourishment from amino acids,

Enzyme Rescue possesses the right amount of oil and water to balance the skin for long term. Enzymes Papain and Bromelain also reduce the risk of dead cells clogging pores to form acne.
